Upon My Arrival

Upon my arrival at Desert, I was understandably nervous, but more so than I have ever been in my teaching career. I had come from a school I had served for a decade and loved dearly with students I had known from the 7th grade all the way through graduation. On day one, the Desert seniors welcomed me as if we had always known each other and this helped to calm my nerves!

Since then, we have spent many classes together discussing theology, worldviews, and our personal struggles. I do have one regret through all of it, that I didn’t come to Desert sooner. I love the students (my freshmen and seniors) as if they were my own children and they are a joy, which makes me know that I have one of the best jobs in the world
