Mr. Ted McGuire
Ted McGuire comes to this role with a strong commitment to Christian education, a genuine love for students, and a leadership philosophy rooted in faith, excellence, and service.
Many of you already know Ted through his long history with Desert Christian Schools, and we are confident that God has called him to this role for such a time as this. We look forward to the ways he will continue to build upon our strong foundation and guide our school forward with wisdom and humility.
A Message from Ted
Let me begin by saying thank you. Thank you to each of you who serve and support Desert Christian. DCS has been an important part of my family for the past 25 years and I am very thankful for the role it played in shaping our children academically, spiritually, and personally. I am forever grateful to everyone, past and present, who have given of their time and talents to make Desert such a special place. I look forward to continuing the legacy of Desert Christian Schools.
I have been married to my wife, April, for thirty-two years. We met while students at the University of Arizona and the rest is history. We have four adult children and a daughter in law—all of whom are graduates of Desert Christian Schools and the University of Arizona! Bear Down Cats and Eagles! I have been a follower of Jesus since my youth, and my faith continues to guide my life. I understand the Bible to be the inerrant Word of God and it is the foundation of my worldview.
For the past thirty years, I have worked as a small-business entrepreneur in Tucson building organizations, leading teams, and stewarding resources with purpose and integrity. In addition, I have been working at the University of Arizona where I am actively involved in community development, partnering with others to strengthen organizations and invest in long-term impact. At the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management, I have had the privilege of teaching and mentoring students as they prepare for leadership in business and beyond.
I am committed to fostering excellence in Christian education and equipping young people to impact the world for Christ. I look forward to getting to know each of you and serving the community with humility and care. “Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1-2
