Welcome to Desert Christian Schools
Desert Christian Schools is an independent, inter-denominational Christian covenant school partnering with parents who desire to see their children raised up “…in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” (Ephesians 6:4).
Desert Christian was founded in 1986 on Tucson's eastside as a high school and has since grown to include a second campus for preschool to 8th grade. Today, DCS represents more than fifty area churches as Tucson's only independent, comprehensive preschool - 12th grade Christian school. DCS is governed by a parent-elected Board of Trustees, staffed by licensed, qualified faculty and is fully accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).
DCS offers students a rigorous traditional liberal arts education taught from a biblical worldview. A wide variety of co-curricular activities are also offered to enhance each child’s experience beyond the classroom. Our professionally certified faculty members possess a vibrant faith and are committed to discipling students while providing the finest quality Christian education. As a result, Desert Christian produces academic excellence within a caring, Christ-centered environment.
Desert Christian Schools is a fully accredited member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), Rocky Mountain Region.
Desert Christian Schools is operated as a not-for-profit corporation. An eight-member Board of Trustees operates the school system through the Headmaster and the Administrative Staff using a policy governance model. The Board is a self-perpetuating body which is representative of the constituency of the school.
Recognizing that all people are the special creations of God, having been made in His image, Desert Christian Schools welcomes students of all races, color, and national or ethnic origins and affords them all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded to students at Desert Christian Schools. Educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, as well as athletic and other school-administered programs similarly do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin.
"I remember all of the reasons my husband and I first enrolled our young children at Desert Christian Schools: the excellent academics taught from a biblical worldview; the godly example of staff and teachers; firm yet fair discipline; the prayer; and the hope that we will someday be able to say of each of our children that he (or she) 'Is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.'”
